A classic industrial loft, in which the original brickwork named after the merchant Ivan Gerasimov has been preserved. The history of the KleinHouse began in 1914, when the architect Roman Klein built on this site the largest tea-packing factory in the Russian Empire for the Tea Trade Partnership of V. Vysotsky and Co. More than 2,000 people worked at the factory. Klein was noted for such projects as the Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow (Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts), the Muir and Meriliz store (the current Central Department Store), Borodinsky Bridge, and the Red Rose factory. The tea factory was built in the industrial modern style. Inside the Kleinhouse there is a landscaped courtyard with a park. A pleasant detail that complements the harmonious composition of the house is the clock tower in the courtyard, made in the Tudor style of London architecture. In general, the appearance of the complex combines elements of classical and American loft architecture, as well as “old avant-garde” and Britpop.
